MTV gibt die Nominierungen der MTV VMAs 2019 bekannt

MTV hat heute die Nominierungen für die „VMAs“ 2019 bekannt gegeben. Mit Nominierungen in den Kategorien „Video of the Year“, „Song of the Year“ und „Best Pop“, sowie jeweils 10 Nominierungen insgesamt, führen Ariana Grande und Taylor Swift das Feld der Nominierten an. Zu den weiteren Top-Kandidaten gehören unter anderem die erstmalig VMA-Nominierten Billie Eilish und Lil Nas X, die beide auf den Award „Best New Artist“ hoffen können. Die diesjährige Show stellt zwei neue Kategorien vor: „Best K-Pop“ und „Video for Good“.
 
MTV verkündete heute die Nominierungen erstmals via “VMA-Chatbot“, über den Fans per DM (Direct Message) an @VMAs auf Facebook und Twitter einen ersten Blick auf die Nominierten erhaschen konnten.
 
“Es war ein unglaubliches Musikjahr! Unsere Nominierten zeigen, wie unglaublich toll und divers die  Musiklandschaft, gerade im Pop-Bereich ist”, so Bruce Gillmer, Head of Music and Music Talent, Viacom und Co-Brand Head, MTV International. „Wir freuen uns wahnsinnig auf den Abend. Besonders weil die Fans mitwirken, wird es unvergesslich!” 

Von heute bis zum 15. August können Fans unter vma.mtv.com in 14 geschlechtsneutralen VMA-Kategorien ihre Favoriten wählen, darunter „Video of the Year“, „Artist of the Year“, „Best Collaboration” und viele mehr. 

Der amerikanische Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco moderiert die diesjährigen VMAs am 26. August live aus dem Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. MTV zeigt die VMAs und die Pre-Show in Deutschland live in der Nacht vom 26. August ab 01:00 Uhr und als Wiederholung am 27. August ab 22 Uhr (23 Uhr auf MTV+).
